Trinity Sunday celebrates the mystery of the Holy Trinity — one God in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Trinitytide, the long season following Trinity Sunday, extends through the summer and autumn until the beginning of Advent. During this season, the Church focuses on the teaching and growth of the Christian life, guided by the Holy Spirit.
The Sunday Lectionary follows the 1928 Book of Common Prayer. Readings are appointed for each Sunday and Holy Day of the liturgical year. Three special observances are also included: Independence Day (July 4), the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (August 15), and the Feast of Christ the King (the last Sunday after Trinity).
